The scope and limits of what SCM Partners does, stated plainly.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Nature of Our Services
SCM Partners provides consulting, coaching, advisory and educational services only. All information, materials, recommendations, programs and communications provided by SCM Partners are for general business, informational and educational purposes.
Nothing provided by SCM Partners constitutes legal, tax, accounting, investment, securities or financial advice, and nothing should be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a licensed professional in the relevant field who is familiar with your specific circumstances.
2. What We Are Not
SCM Partners is not:
- A law firm, and no attorney-client relationship is formed by contacting or engaging us;
- An accounting or tax preparation firm;
- A credit repair organization as defined under the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act, or any comparable state law;
- A registered investment adviser, investment adviser representative, broker-dealer or registered representative;
- A bank, lender, licensed loan broker, or provider of credit; or
- An insurance agency or producer.
We do not perform any service reserved by law to a licensed professional. Where your matter requires one, we will say so and encourage you to engage one.
3. No Investment Advice
SCM Partners does not provide investment advice of any kind. We do not recommend, endorse, offer, sell or solicit the purchase or sale of any security, investment product, digital asset or investment opportunity, and we do not advise on portfolio composition, asset allocation or investment strategy. No content on this website or in any SCM Partners material should be construed as an offer, solicitation or recommendation with respect to any investment. Consult a licensed investment professional regarding any investment decision.
4. Funding Introductions
SCM Partners is not a lender and does not originate, underwrite, approve, decline or fund any loan, advance or credit facility. Where we assist with access to capital, our role is limited to consulting on preparation and presentation and to making introductions to third-party funding sources.
All credit and funding decisions, rates, fees, terms and conditions are determined solely by those third parties. SCM Partners does not guarantee that any application will be submitted, considered, approved, or approved on any particular terms, and is not responsible for the acts, omissions, products, terms or conduct of any third-party funding source. You are responsible for reviewing and understanding any agreement you enter into, and we recommend you have counsel review it.
5. Credit Services — Education Only
Our credit-related services are strictly consultative and educational. SCM Partners does not perform, offer or sell credit repair services. Specifically, we do not: dispute information with any consumer reporting agency or creditor on your behalf; contact any credit bureau, furnisher or creditor as your representative; make any representation, promise or guarantee regarding the improvement of any credit score or the removal, alteration or suppression of any information appearing on any consumer report.
You have the right to dispute inaccurate information in your own credit report yourself, directly with the consumer reporting agencies, at no cost. You may also obtain free copies of your credit reports as provided by federal law. Nothing SCM Partners provides is necessary to exercise those rights.
6. Asset Protection — Education Only
Information and materials regarding asset protection, entity structuring, trusts and related concepts are provided for general educational purposes only. SCM Partners does not create, draft, recommend, implement, fund or administer any trust, entity, estate plan or asset protection structure, and does not advise on the legal effect, enforceability or tax treatment of any such arrangement.
Asset protection planning is highly fact-specific and jurisdiction-dependent. Transfers or structures undertaken for improper purposes — including hindering, delaying or defrauding creditors, or evading taxes or legal obligations — may be void, reversible, and may carry civil and criminal consequences. Any implementation must be designed and executed by a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction, with appropriate tax counsel.
7. Business Formation and Document Preparation
Business formation consulting and document preparation consulting are administrative and educational in nature. SCM Partners does not select legal instruments for you, does not advise on the legal sufficiency, effect or enforceability of any document, does not practice law, and does not represent you before any court or government agency. The choice of entity type, jurisdiction and governing documents carries legal and tax consequences that should be reviewed with a licensed attorney and a qualified tax professional.
8. Lead Generation
Where SCM Partners provides or brokers leads, we do not guarantee lead volume, lead quality, contact rates, appointment rates, conversion rates, revenue or return on spend. Third-party lead vendors are independent businesses, and SCM Partners is not responsible for their conduct, data practices or representations.
You are solely responsible for your own compliance with all laws applicable to your outreach, including but not limited to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, state telemarketing and do-not-call laws, the CAN-SPAM Act, and applicable privacy and data protection laws. We strongly recommend you obtain qualified legal counsel regarding your compliance obligations before conducting any outbound campaign.
9. No Guarantee of Results
SCM Partners makes no guarantee, representation or warranty regarding any specific outcome, including but not limited to funding approval, revenue growth, profitability, cost reduction, credit outcomes, lead performance or business success. Results depend on numerous factors outside our control, including your own execution, your market, economic conditions and the independent decisions of third parties.
Any examples, figures, illustrations or descriptions of past engagements are provided for illustration only and are not a promise or projection of your results. Your results will differ.
10. Third-Party Content and Links
This website may reference or link to third-party websites, vendors, lenders or service providers. Such references do not constitute endorsement, and SCM Partners is not responsible for the content, accuracy, practices, products or services of any third party. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that party.
11. No Relationship Created by Website Use
Use of this website, submission of a form, or an initial consultation does not create a consulting, advisory, fiduciary or professional relationship between you and SCM Partners. A relationship is established only by a written engagement agreement signed by both parties. Information you transmit before an engagement is in place is not confidential or privileged.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SCM Partners and its members, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunity or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of this website or reliance on any information or service provided, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
13. Changes
SCM Partners may update this disclaimer at any time. The version posted on this page governs, and the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this website constitutes acceptance of the current version.
